Brighton vs Manchester United prediction and odds: Goals could be in short supply at the Amex Stadium

Just when it looked like Manchester United wouldn't win another game this season they weighed in with a half-decent display to see off a Brentford side that put up very little resistance at Old Trafford on Monday night.

That makes working out just what sort of United performance we are likely to get at the Amex on Saturday evening a little trickier than it would have been. And the prices back up the theory that this really is a tough game to call from a punting point of view.

The Reds are narrow favourites at 6/4 with Betfred, with Brighton 7/4 chances to atone for their 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture.

However, those prices might just underestimate the hosts, who are finishing the season with a bit of a flourish. Graham Potter's side have lost just one of their last five (away at Man City) and the head into this game on the back of a thoroughly convincing performance at Molineux last weekend, where the Seagulls actually made the most of the chances they created - something they have failed to so often this season.

United have won their last SEVEN games against Brighton in all competitions but they have probably never travelled to the south coast in worse shape and weighed down with as much uncertainty as they are right now.

United have been pretty average on the road this term, failing to win 11 of their 17 road trips, which hardly inspires confidence. The issue for punters is that Brighton have been utterly tragic at home, winning just three of their 17 home matches all season - indeed only Watford have won fewer home games. That leaves us in a tricky spot.

Brighton vs Manchester United prediction

The way into this might just be goals - or lack of them. Brighton have scored just 12 times at home all season while United have managed just a solitary strike in their last three away games.

Four of the last five games at the Amex Stadium have gone under 2.5 goals and it would be no surprise if this turned out to be another low-scoring affair. Back the 'unders' at 10/11.

Recommended bet: Under 2.5 goals @ 10/11 with Betfred
