Brighton team news for vital Leeds United clash as Graham Potter targets historic finish

Brighton boss Graham Potter has revealed that he has no fresh injury concerns and is therefore set to have the same group available to face Leeds United that devastatingly swatted aside Manchester United 4-0 last weekend. Potter takes his side to Elland Road hoping to clinch a top-half finish in the highest division of the English game for the first time in their 121-year history.

From a near fully-fit squad, Polish midfielder Jakub Moder is the only player whose services Potter will definitely not be calling upon. Moder is a long-term absentee after suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage at the start of April.

But midfielder Enock Mwepu, who has returned to training after a groin injury, and teenage striker Jeremy Sarmiento, who is making good progress from a hamstring issue, are unlikely to be rushed back either. "Enock did a little bit today but Sunday will come too soon," Potter explained.

"Jeremy is making progress but I think we will have the same group as we had against Manchester United." Goals from Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard saw the south-coast side shock their high-profile visitors during a contest that could have easily resulted in a heavier margin of victory.

But Potter's men have actually performed better on the road this term, with a return of 28 points only bested by top-three Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea. The Seagulls' only away defeats have been at Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Such form has helped lifted the Amex Stadium outfit to ninth in the table. Since winning promotion to the Premier League in 2017, Brighton have finished between 15th and 17th in each of the last four seasons and their highest-ever, top-tier finish was 13th in 1981/82.

Depending on their final two results - Albion wrap up the season at home to West Ham after facing Jesse Marsch's men - the club could still catch Wolves and finish as high as eighth this campaign or drop as low as 14th. Potter, therefore, knows there is a fair amount at stake for both sides this weekend, saying: "Leeds are fighting for their lives and doing everything they can to stay in the Premier League. We respect what they're trying to do, we'll respect the game and go up there to do our best."

Brighton team (probable): Sanchez, Cucurella, Dunk, Veltman, March, Bissouma, Caicedo, Trossard, Gross, Mac Allister, Welbeck.
