Brighton fans aim expletive Graham Potter chant at Frank Lampard as Chelsea sent clear message

Brighton supporters aimed a hilariously brutal chant at Frank Lampard during the Seagulls' clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Conor Gallagher broke the deadlock inside the opening quarter of an hour, before Danny Welbeck clinched an equaliser just moments before half-time.

Julio Enciso, who replaced Joel Veltman in the first-half, then handed Roberto De Zerbi's side the lead with an excellent strike from range. To say that there was needle or unrest between Brighton and Chelsea ahead of the clash would be an understatement after the Blues poached their former boss, Graham Potter, in September.

After just several months in charge, the 47-year-old was sacked and replaced by Frank Lampard. With Chelsea yet to show any sign of improvement under the caretaker boss, Seagulls supporters piled on the misery for Lampard at Stamford Bridge.

A handful of Brighton fans were heard chanting, "you're just a s*** Graham Potter", and, "he's going to cry in a minute", as well as various of other renditions. With Chelsea yet to appoint a new manager, Jamie Carragher has suggested Todd Boehly turns to Julian Nagelsmann, who was sacked by Bayern Munich less than a fortnight before the Blues parted ways with Potter.

Speaking on The Overlap Live Tour, in partnership with Sky Bet, the former Liverpool defender said: "If a manager has an option between Chelsea and Spurs, I think they will choose Chelsea in terms of giving them more chance of a window, and maybe a bigger transfer kitty.

"The fact that they put Frank Lampard in tells me they may already have someone lined up, but that person will come in the summer. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out in the next few weeks that Julian Naglesmann has agreed to join Chelsea, but he wanted some time out and to get ready for the summer and have a pre-season.

"I might be totally wrong, and they might not have anyone and are still working on it, but to sign Frank straight away and not give it another week to get someone in for a couple of months, makes me feel they have something already lined up for the summer."
