Bridgerton star thanks Glasgow NHS staff following death of her dad

The star of the hit Netflix show Bridgerton has publicly thanked Glasgow hospital staff following the death of her dad.

Ruby Barker, who plays Marina Thompson in the period drama series, paid tribute to her late dad and the NHS staff in a social media post.

Writing on Instagram, she said: "Rest in peace Daddy, I love you more than life itself, I hope I did and will continue to do you proud. This world is less lighter without you, I will never get over this.

"Thank you to Glasgow general infirmary."

Ruby spent her teenage years in Glasgow after moving up from London. While she was born in London, Barker spent many of her teens in the city.

Many of her friends flocked to the comments to send their condolences.

One wrote: "I am so sorry for your loss, Ruby. May his memory be a blessing."

Another added: "Sincerest condolences to you and your family."

While one said: "I’m sorry for your loss Ruby. He was an incredibly extraordinary, kind and amusing man."

And one said: "So sorry to hear and wish you and your family peace and strength going through this difficult journey."
