Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan has been hailed an “icon” for her quick-thinking response when asked a question about nudity on the show.
The Irish actress, 37, was taking part in a Q&A in Dublin to promote part two of the third series of the hit Netflix period drama, when a female journalist commented that she was “very brave” to bare all on screen.
Coughlan - who plays the role of Penelope Featherington and features in a fully nude sex scene - took the remark in her stride.
“You know, it is hard because I think women with my body type - women with perfect breasts - we don’t get to see ourselves onscreen enough,” she replied. “And I’m very proud as a member of the perfect breasts community. I hope you enjoy seeing them.”

The body positivity advocate’s words were met with rapturous laughter, cheers and applauds from the audience.
Coughlan - whose other acting credits includes Derry Girls, plus, last year’s blockbuster hit Barbie - also won the support of the internet after a clip of the moment began to circulate online.
“It must have been one of those insulting, backhanded comments. Nicola's clever!” remarked one person on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Great response,” put in a second, with another agreeing: “Brilliant! Next question!”
A fourth declared it “icon behavior”, with a fourth adding “she's my queen”.
