Bridgerton stars Phoebe Dynevor and Rege Jean Page reunited at the 2022 Met Gala in New York City.
The talented Netflix stars oozed glamour on the red-carpet as they posed for a striking snap together after Rege Jean snubbed the second series of the critically acclaimed period drama.
In an unseen photograph from the glitz and glamour that all that the Met Gala had to offer, the gorgeous stars cosied up to one another after the incredible success of the first series of Bridgerton where Phoebe played Daphne, and Rege played her love interest, Simon Basset.
The pair looked sensational in the gorgeous snap as Phoebe placed her arm on the handsome actor's shoulder during the special ceremony.
The British star stormed the red carpet on the night in a black sheer gown which was embellished with intricate beadwork accompanied by a striking frill short overskirt.
Meanwhile, Rege opted deep blue velvet tuxedo which had his adoring admirers gasping as they watched the actor pose for photos on the red carpet.
Their Met Gala reunion comes after it was reported that Rege Jean refused to star in the second series of the recording-breaking Netflix show over a reported 'disagreement' with the show's bosses.
Insiders previously claimed that the actor turned down a whopping $50,000 per episode.
The handsome actor took to Instagram in April last year to confirm the sad news, along with a photo of himself on a horse as Simon, writing: "The ride of a life time.
"It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family - not just on screen, but off screen too.
"Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans - it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined.
"The love is real and will just keep growing."
However, it was claimed that Page isn't returning as the Duke because he didn't like what the producers had planned for his hunky character.
"Regé is not coming back to Bridgerton because of creative differences with [executive producer] Shonda Rhimes and her team," a Hollywood source told Page Six.
"He wasn’t happy with what was planned for his character for Season 2, which would have kept him a player but not the focal point of the show."
Rege-Jean himself told Variety that the plan was only ever to appear in the first season of Bridgerton because his character had found love.
"It''s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end – give us a year," he told the publication.
"[I thought] 'That’s interesting,' because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on."
