Bridgerton star say it's 'mind blowing' that Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton are fans

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan found it 'mindblowing' that Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton are fans of the racy shows.

The actress, who stars as Penelope Featherington in the hit Netflix series, sat down with Tatler to discuss the show and her life.

Speaking about the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and The Duchess of Cambridge, she said: "It’s crazy to think that something you made has been seen by that many people in the world. It’s quite mind-blowing."

Nicola is still getting used to being famous and previously discussed it.

The Derry Girls star admitted she sometimes feels like an "animal at the zoo" when people stare at her when she hangs out with friends.

She told Elle UK : "Being famous is like being a dog on the Tube. It’s exactly the same energy. When you get on, everyone looks at you."

In March last year, Kim began binge-watching the Netflix series - starring Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page - with pals Stephanie Shepherd and Tracy Romulus.

She shared a pic of her TV screen on her Instagram Story, which showed characters Simon Basset and Daphne Bridgerton, played by Rege-Jean and Phoebe respectively.

The KKW Beauty founder wrote: "It's finally happening!!!"

Alongside another pic of the main characters dancing, Kim wrote: "I'm not ok!!!!" before adding: "What is happening?!?! I'm not crying!"

A month later, it was announced that Rege-Jean was leaving the show and Kim was upset.

Sharing the show's official statement on the news to her Insta Stories, Kim cried: "I'm NOT OK!!!!!

"What is happening??? How can this be??" she demanded to know.

Bridgerton fans believe that the Duchess of Cambridge is a fan of the show after she laughed at a reference.

During an interview about parenting, Kate was asked to write down who the greatest support to her has been during the pandemic.

She wrote down her husband, William.

The moderator then said: "Lovely to hear... We don't want it to be Bridgerton or something like that, do we?"

Fellow parents on the call laughed, along with Kate which made fans believe she watched the show.

Kim and Kate don't have long to wait for another season of the saucy series.

Season two of Bridgerton will be returning to Netflix on March 25.
