A recent shooting incident at a popular nightclub in downtown Washington, D.C., has left a bride-to-be injured just two weeks before her wedding. The incident occurred at Decades on Connecticut Avenue NW around 11:30 p.m. on April 26.

The suspect, Rennwel Mantock, allegedly opened fire and hit multiple bystanders as security guards attempted to escort him from the club. One of the victims, identified as 'Katie,' a mother of three, expressed her gratitude for being alive despite sustaining injuries. She recounted how she was hit while trying to flee the chaos.

The shooting took place in an area known for its heavy security and bustling nightlife during weekends. Mantock is facing charges including six counts of assault with intent to kill and six counts of firearm possession during a violent crime, as per D.C. court records.

According to a police report, the suspect claimed that he was involved in a scuffle with security after being asked to leave the club. He alleged that security personnel physically confronted him, leading to him pulling out a gun and firing shots in response to feeling mistreated.

Authorities were able to recover the suspect's firearm from underneath a vehicle where he had reportedly discarded it after the shooting. In total, six victims were injured and transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

'I will never return to the streets of D.C.,' Katie stated, emphasizing her shock at being caught up in violence in what she believed to be a safe environment. The incident has raised concerns about security measures and public safety in the area.
