A woman "was utterly shocked and horrified" to learn a relative had accidentally sold 16 of her "irreplaceable" vinyl records for £1 each at a car boot sale.
Rohan Mellor, who lives in Buxton, Derbyshire, had inherited the records which were first press albums from the early 60s to the late 70s, by artists including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, David Bowie and AC/DC.
They were being kept at a relative's home while Rohan moved house and, following a bereavement, the relative had accidentally mixed them up with items she was clearing out.
The vinyls were then sold at a car boot sale in Rowsley, Derbyshire on Sunday, a day after Rohan and her husband Rob returned from their honeymoon, the BBC reports.
They had once been collected by Rohan's father and uncle, and after her uncle died a few years ago her father gave them to her and her sister.
Rohan, 26, described the records as "sentimental" and "irreplaceable" and told the BBC she was "utterly shocked and horrified" that they were gone.
"It did not really hit me properly until the next day and I was really, really upset," she said. "I am a massive record fan. These were a special few [my dad] had given to us."
A man bought them all for a total of £15.50 soon after Rowsley car boot sale had opened.
Rohan, who lives in Buxton, said she was desperately hoping someone could help reunite her with the records.
A message she posted on Facebook about the blunder has been shared more than 700 times.
She and Rob, who tied the knot on June 9, have also been in touch with a number of record dealers and Rob plans to visit the car boot sale on Sunday to see if he can track down the buyer.
Rohan said she was more than happy to pay to get them back
"It was never about the financial value of them. They were really important."
