Bride asks make-up artist to turn her into a 'different person' - and upsets many

A bride's statement on their wedding day isn't all about the white dress - it's also about the glamorous hair and make-up that compliments it.

One unnamed bride-to-be wanted to take her look a step further as she asked her make-up artist for a big transformation on her special day.

In a TikTok video - that has surpassed 218,000 views to date - professional make-up artist Selena Marchand complied with her customer's request to make her feel beautiful as she tied the knot.

The bride-to-be asked her make-up artist to make her look totally different for her big day, and she went ahead and did exactly that.

The make-up artist posted the video to TikTok on her profile @selenamup, as she uploaded a before and after transformation of her client.

Sharing the video, Selena wrote: “This bride told me to turn her into a different person - I said done”

She got down to business as she documented the make-up process to complete the finished look - from sparkling eyeshadow, foundation, and contour - you name it.

"My beautiful bride," she wrote as she finished off the final look.

However, the video didn't land well with all of Selena's followers.

Viewers fled to the comment section to share their thoughts on the controversial video as a lot of TikTokers felt upset about the ordeal.

"Different person? This is kinda sad tho," one user wrote.

"This made me really sad," another penned. "I want to look back and see myself, not a different person.

"At first I thought you said 'Don't', not 'Done'."

”A third agreed: “Should've replied with, 'No, let’s enhance your beauty!'”

Selena - who has gained over 14,000 followers on her Instagram account @selenamup - took to the comments to defend her decision and said: “I let my clients determine what makes them feel beautiful, not my opinion.”

Another user came to the woman's defence and wrote: "Why is everyone criticising you? The beautiful bride asked for something and got it.

"She may love make-up and uses it similarly every day".

Another complimented the bride for looking like a "Disney princess".
