A federal lawsuit contends that Jazmin Valentine was forced to give birth on the floor of a cell in the Washington County, Maryland, jail. The suit says that nurses working for the jail's medical provider laughed at her and said she was trying to get out of the cell or told her she was suffering withdrawal from drugs, not labor. Jail officials called an ambulance only after the baby was born. A county spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuit.
