Nottingham Forest identify ‘top target’ for summer window after transfer meeting
Nottingham Forest will make the permanent signing of Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson one of their ‘top targets’ in the summer should they stay in the Premier League, according to reports.
The goalkeeper is currently on a season long loan from Old Trafford but is sidelined with an injury that is expected to keep him out until the end of the month. He injured his calf in the closing stages of Forest ’s win over Leicester last month, causing the Reds to move in the transfer window to bring in a replacement.
That replacement turned out to be serial Champions League winner Keylor Navas, who has been demoted to number two for French giants Paris Saint-Germain this season. The Costa Rica international joined Forest on loan until the end of the season when a deal was resurrected on deadline day.
Nottingham Forest ace Brennan Johnson reveals David Beckham advice and Chelsea lesson
Nottingham Forest academy graduate Brennan Johnson has revealed how he receives advice from former Man United and England star David Beckham before big games.
The former England captain is a friend of Johnson’s father David, with the two playing together in the academy at Old Trafford. That association sees Beckham following Johnson ’s career closely, as he has risen through the academy and into the first team at the City Ground.
“I first met him (Beckham) when I was about 15 or 16 and meeting people like that is crazy,” Johnson told the Daily Mail . “You think they’re going to be from a different world but they’re not. He’s a really nice guy, really humble.
Rock music, Friends, philosophy - the fascinating life of Nottingham Forest ace Gustavo Scarpa
In the space of less than 15 minutes, Gustavo Scarpa covers everything from Led Zeppelin, Steve Jobs, his faith and the TV show Friends. Not to mention his start to life at Nottingham Forest. And Rubik’s Cubes, of course.
He is a fascinating character. Someone who has quickly become popular among the dressing room and with supporters and who is keen to embrace life in a new country. He is determined to make an impression on the pitch, too.
The versatile midfielder has made a positive start to life at the City Ground since putting pen to paper as a free agent. And having arrived on Trentside already speaking very good English, he now finds himself - along with Renan Lodi, who has been at the club since the summer - drafted in to act as translator for fellow Brazilians Danilo and Felipe.
Nottingham Forest sent double transfer plea after Brice Samba makes feelings known
Former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba is "happy to see" his fellow promotion hero Djed Spence playing in the same country as him.
Samba tweeted about Spence while the wing-back, on loan at Rennes from Tottenham Hotspur, was in action against Lille on Saturday night. After Samba left Forest for Lens last summer, Spence joined him in France with a season-long January loan.
The social media post from Samba has prompted a big response from Forest supporters, who have happy memories of the duo and will be looking out for them facing off against each other when Rennes host Lens on April 2.
