Clare boss Brian Lohan wouldn’t be drawn on referee Liam Gordon’s failure to award his side a late equalising free against Limerick.
In the depths of injury time, Limerick’s Peter Casey felled Tony Kelly of Clare with a shoulder to the chest though play carried on and Lohan’s side had another legitimate call for a free before the final whistle sounded seconds later.
Gordon was escorted from the field though Lohan said he hadn’t had the opportunity to review the incidents when speaking after the game.

When asked if there had been any discussion about it in the dressing room afterwards, Lohan replied: “Sure, look, there’s always talk. Yeah, there’s always talk.”
Full-back Conor Cleary was named to play for Clare but was withdrawn from the starting line-up on the back of a shoulder injury sustained against Cork last month, with Lohan saying that “he made every effort to be there but he wasn’t able to play and that was confirmed for us on Thursday”.
Into the side came Cian Nolan, though he endured a difficult afternoon on a rampant Aaraon Gillane.
Lohan commented: “Aaron Gillane is probably one of the best forwards in the game at the moment and if you’re looking at traditionally good forwards in Limerick he’s probably one of the best there’s ever been so really tough challenge for anyone that is marking him. He was very good.”
Clare failed to reboot their season after a Munster final loss against Limerick last year and they now face Dublin or Carlow in the All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday week.
Lohan added: “It’s a bit early to be thinking about it, the next hurdle that is there but we’ll just take a couple of days now and try and focus on it.
“You could be gone the next day. You just don’t know. So we’ll just see, we’ll try and get ourselves right for two weeks’ time and see how it pans out.”
