Brian Daboll Gave Blunt Response to Question About Daniel Jones’s Pick Six vs. Seahawks

After the Giants’ defeat against the Seahawks on Monday night, head coach Brian Daboll was asked about Daniel Jones’s costly pick-six, which was returned 97 yards by rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon

Daboll, who was visibly frustrated in the aftermath of the interception, gave a blunt response when a reporter asked what he wanted Jones to do on the play from deep within the red zone.

“Obviously, not throw an interception,” said Daboll.

After the interception, Daboll could be seen talking to Jones on the sideline, appearing baffled by the quarterback’s third turnover of the game.

Daboll could later be seen tossing a tablet in frustration after reviewing the play with Jones on the bench.

He didn’t expand on the play with reporters, though he failed to mask his frustration with his curt response.

Jones threw two interceptions and coughed up a fumble in the 24–3 loss, as the Giants were held without a touchdown at MetLife Stadium for the second time in the team’s two home games.

Jones was also harsh on himself for the mistake after the game. When he addressed reporters, the 26-year-old called the play an “awful mistake” and said it was a “terrible decision” on his part.
