Brian Cox praises Succession as the 'greatest work experience ever' as show comes to an end

Brian Cox has spoken out on the end of Succession and praised the entire team for creating the 'greatest work experience ever'.

The Dundee-born actor starred as foul-mouthed patriarch Logan Roy in the hit HBO drama as he gushed over the production. Taking to his social media on Monday, Cox shared his appreciation for the cast and crew following the series finale that aired over the weekend.

“We have now come to the end,” Cox said. “And what has been, in my career, certainly the greatest work experience ever. The harmony between cast and crew was truly amazing. It was on [its] way to become a great series but the Love and commitment from crew to cast and writers, made it memorable.”

He continued: “I would like to thank all of us in the making and creating of this show from the very bottom of my heart. Yours ever, Brian Cox.”

This comes after the Scots actor previously said he felt Logan's death in the third episode of Season 4 was too early but acknowledged it as part of a brilliant plan.

"I was fine with it ultimately, but I did feel a little bit rejected. You know, I felt a little bit, oh, all the work I've done and finally I'm going to, you know, end up as an ear on a carpet of a plane," he explained.

However, Cox did go on to say that creator Jesse Armstrong handled Logan's death "brilliantly" by killing him off screen, adding that he was mistaken to initially view it as a "form of rejection".

This comes after the Scots star previously admitted that he wouldn't be shedding any tears when the show ended. Speaking to Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on This Morning, Brian joked he was too busy to cry over Succession ending.

During his ITV appearance, Brian savagely joked his co-star Sarah Snook, who plays on-screen daughter Shiv Roy, was "stupid" for not realising the programme was finishing after this season.

Alison asked Brian how he felt now the hit series was wrapping up at its peak, to which he replied: "I love it. Oh god I'm so glad it's over. Too many television shows live well past their sell-by-date and this won't happen to our show because of the integrity of Jessie Armstrong."

He added: "I think it was tough for him to bring it to a close but I know a lot of people, I mean Sarah Snook didn't even know it was finishing until the last read-through. I mean, she had been very stupid not to realise it was going to finish."
