Brexit has been an "unmitigated disaster" for Lanarkshire, according to one of the area's MSPs.
New figures have revealed the region has lost out on hundreds of millions of pounds worth of exports since the UK voted to leave the European Union in 2016.
In Scotland, an overall total of £2.2bn has been cut since the referendum.
Figures from HMRC show that exports from Scotland to the EU have dropped 13 per cent in the past two years from £16.7bn to £14.5bn.
In North Lanarkshire a total of £137.1m worth of exports is estimated to have been lost, while in South Lanarkshire the total was listed as £129.5m.
The figures were slammed by the Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey, who has been a long time critic of the Brexit vote and a supporter of Scotland re-joining the EU after independence.
She told Lanarkshire Live : "Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster for every area of Scotland, including South Lanarkshire.
"These latest figures show why it is essential for Scotland to become independent and re-join the European Union.
"Only with independence can we get back on the road towards prosperity as both Labour and the Tories offer no way back to the European Union, just continuing decline under Westminster control.
"Industries in South Lanarkshire and across Scotland are suffering as a result of the disastrous Brexit, the only way Scotland can flourish and realise our full potential is by becoming an independent country in the European Union."
Scotland's most exported good, mainly oil and gas, have also declined, as have exports of food and live animals.
