Drinkers can enjoy a cool new take on the traditional pint this summer – gelato-flavoured beer.
Ora Brewing Company has created a range of ales inspired by traditional Italian ice cream flavours.
The first beer, which was made with the Pastore brewery and costs £6 for a 5.2% can, is described as “a sour with almond and cherry”. And the second beer to be released will be a “decadent hazelnut and pistachio dark mild” made in collaboration with Brew York.
Ora says the bevvies are “a sensory experience that will transport you to the sun-kissed streets of Italy”, adding: “Inspired by the indulgent world of traditional Italian gelato, we have created a series of beers that take your buds on an unforgettable journey. Each one is a fusion of artistry and flavour, bringing together the richness of our brewing techniques with the delightful essence of authentic gelato flavours.”

Even CAMRA, known for championing real ales, backs the gelato-style beers from Ora, which is based in Tottenham, North London.
National chairman Nik Antona said: “The modern UK beer scene is wonderfully varied.
“With the summer heating up, CAMRA hopes everyone will support brewers by enjoying a pint at their local pub, social club or tap room.”
