Brentford striker Ivan Toney has dug up an old tweet that shows Leeds United duo Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas singing about Bees boss Thomas Frank upon the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League. Cooper and Dallas were filmed holding the Championship trophy while chanting ‘mind the gap Thomas Frank’.
In Leeds ’ title winning season, Brentford were also vying hard for automatic promotion but fell at the final hurdle with defeats to Stoke City and Barnsley, before then being beaten 1-0 by Fulham in the play-off final. But Brentford were able to put that heartache behind them as the following season they won promotion to the Premier League for the first time, with Toney playing a huge part.
And with the two clubs in the same league again, it is Brentford who have enjoyed the better season. They currently sit nine points ahead of Leeds in 12th place, with the Whites now occupying a place in the bottom three.

Frank’s side could still have a huge say on the division that Leeds find themselves in next season, as they are set to go head-to-head on the final day. With Leeds currently level on points with Burnley and tough fixtures coming up for both, it is very difficult to imagine a scenario where the Whites will not need points in their first ever trip to the Brentford Community Stadium.
And Brentford striker Toney has already been quick to light the fire for the match by quote retweeting the video of Dallas and Cooper. It certainly seems like something the Bees have not been quick to forget.
Leeds United host Brighton on Sunday before their final-day clash with Brentford, while Burnley travel to Spurs and then Aston Villa, before hosting Newcastle at Turf on the last day.
Everton face the Bees this weekend becore ending the season with games against Crystal Palace at home and Arsenal at the Emirates.
