Brentford sign Romeo Beckham on permanent deal: ‘It’s the best feeling, I’m so excited’

Brentford have confirmed the permanent signing of Romeo Beckham from Inter Milan.

The 20-year-old, the second eldest of David Beckham’s four children, spent the second half of this season on loan at the club from MLS side Inter Miami, where his father is the president and co-owner.

Beckham impressed for the B side this season, making 15 appearances, and has signed a one-year contract to make his stay in west London permanent. The contract also features an option for a further year.

In the 2022 season, he posted an impressive two goals and ten assists in 20 appearances for Inter Miami II in the MLS Next Pro competition.

Beckham said: “It’s the best feeling, honestly. I’m so excited. They’ve welcomed me from day one, I’ve loved every second of it. It’s obviously a different experience to Miami. [In the Premier League Cup], it’s a great experience being able to play against men’s teams.”

Brentford B head coach MacFarlane said: “We added Romeo to our squad in January and he’s been fantastic for the group. He’s had a terrific end to the season [and] in his recent match against Manchester City, he showed what he’s learned during his loan with us.

“We’ve continued to develop him in and out of possession and we look forward to him coming back in good spirits to continue working with him next season.”
