Brentford are expected to release Charlie Goode when his contract expires next summer.
There is an option for an addition year on the four-year contract he signed when joining Brentford from Northampton Town in August 2020, but the Bees do not plan to trigger it.
The 28-year-old centre-back came through non-league football after being released by Fulham’s academy aged 15.
He joined Brentford for just over £1million in 2020 when the Bees were still in the Championship, but missed months of the 2020/21 season through illness.
Injuries to Zanka and Kristoffer Ajer saw him make a succession of Premier League starts early on in Brentford’s first season in the top-flight, but a December hamstring injury ended that run.
A six-month loan to Sheffield United was cut short by a serious knee injury, before a loan a year later to Blackpool was brought to an end after three games when the Englishman suffered a season-ending hamstring injury.
He has not played for Brentford this season and is expected to seek out a new opportunity next summer.
Goode has played a total of just 20 appearances in more than three years at Brentford.
