Brennan Johnson transfer prediction made following 'classy' Nottingham Forest performance

Tony Cascarino predicts that "lots of teams will be looking to sign" Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson in the summer transfer window following his performances this season.

The 21-year-old has been one of the Reds' leading lights this season and is top of the club's scoring charts with nine goals so far. Two of those came in a terrific display against relegation rivals Everton at the City Ground on Sunday.

The pundit says that Johnson was one of the "classier" operators during an "old-fashioned battle" at the weekend, which saw Forest pick up a valuable point. Cascarino believes that the youngster is getting "better and better", which will inevitably lead to interest from other clubs.

"There’s no right or wrong way to play the game or get results. Winning is all that matters,"the former Chelsea and Republic of Ireland forward wrote in his weekly column for The Times.

"And in that sense the Nottingham Forest and Everton draw was an old-school classic. It wasn’t beautiful but it was guts, thunder and end-to-end at times and showed two teams who are desperate to survive.

"It was a game that shows why the Premier League is so unique. Yes we increasingly see teams looking to play attractive football but from time to time we still get an old-fashioned battle, full of niggle and tackles.

"One of the classier players on the pitch was the Forest forward Brennan Johnson, who is getting better and better. If he keeps showing clinical finishing like that second goal into the top corner, then I think lots of teams will be looking to sign him this summer."
