Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson has sent a message to teammate Neco Williams as he recovers from injury.
The full-back has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a broken jaw in the second half of the 3-1 win against Brighton last week. The Welshman received lengthy treatment on the pitch before being taken to hospital.
He underwent successful surgery and will now begin his recovery. Williams was one of the latest to be added to a growing injury list for Forest.
The Reds played their first game since the defender’s injury. And Johnson took the chance to send a message of support for his club and international teammate.

Following Danilo’s goal, the winger lifted up his shirt and showed a message reading: “Neco, thinking of you.”
That goal put Forest 1-0 up, but they weren’t able to hold on for what would have been a huge result in the fight against relegation. Two late goals from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva led to heartbreak for the Reds in a 2-1 loss.
Following the game, Johnson shared an image of his message for Williams on his Instagram stories. The full-back responded with three red hearts.
The result against Brentford means that Forest will end the day in the Premier League relegation zone due to Leicester City facing Everton. Even if the game ends in a draw, one point would take Leicester above Forest on goal difference.
Steve Cooper ’s men are back in action in one week when they take on Southampton at the City Ground on Monday night (8pm kick off). The Reds then finish their season vs Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
