Forest's under-21s are now up to third in the Premier League 2 Division 2 table, behind Southampton and Leeds. They will be targeting promotion to the Premier League 2 Divison 1, where the big clubs such as Man City, Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool play their under-21 football.
Friday's opponents and East Midlands rival Derby have had a torrid season in the under-21 league. They are yet to pick up a point from their opening 11 games of the season. They have a young, inexperienced squad that is being rebuilt after the club's administration.
