Nottingham Forest academy graduate Brennan Johnson has spoken out after committing his future to the club.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at the City Ground as he prepares for life in the Premier League. Forest saw off Premier League interest in the forward in the last transfer window, rebuffing offers from Brentford for the academy graduate.
He played a big part in Forest’s promotion to the top division via the play-offs last season. He scored in both the home and away legs of the semi-final against Sheffield United as Steve Cooper’s men booked their place at Wembley Stadium.

Johnson played the full 90 minutes of the showpiece final against Huddersfield Town just over a month ago. Levi Colwill’s own goal just before half-time was enough to separate the two sides as Forest returned to the Premier League.
After signing the new deal, Johnson took to social media to give his reaction, writing on Instagram: “Home. Delighted to have signed a new contract. Can’t wait for the new season!”
And as the news was announced by the club, he added: “Just wanted to say that firstly the support that I’ve felt from the fans last season was unbelievable.
“Playing for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League was always my dream growing up and now it’s going to happen. It has been an unbelievable journey from the Academy to the first team and I want to thank the manager, all the staff and the whole board for believing in me and giving me the confidence to go out on the pitch and show what I can do.
“I’m really excited for this new season and feeling the energy from the fans out on the City Ground which I’m sure will be something special.”
