Brendan Aaronson has revealed an incredible story of how he watched Leeds United's Premier League survival match in a cafe in Vienna and was 'literally sweating' in the hopes of their survival. Should Leeds have been relegated, a move would have been incredibly unlikely.
However, once Jack Harrison scored that 94th minute winner, he knew he'd be heading to the Premier League. Aaronson arrived in Leeds on Wednesday before undergoing a medical on Thursday morning.
The 21-year-old was coached by Jesse Marsch at his former side in Austria and had a breakthrough season during his last campaign with Red Bull Salzburg. Aaronson confirmed that the move would have been in some doubt if Leeds were relegated, and revealed his experience of quite literally sweating the game out, as he watched it in its entirety in a cafe in Austria.

He told Leeds Live : "It was tough, you know. Me and my girlfriend were in Vienna for a few days, and I was sitting in a cafe and I swear I was literally dripping with sweat! I was pacing during the game - it was not a good time! But in the end, they won so it was good.
"After the game we were in a state of shock - we realised that we were moving to England right away so that was a crazy feeling."
Although aged just 21, Aaronson is no stranger to new surroundings - leaving America as a teenager to join the Austrian club, leaving his family behind. And whilst he enjoyed his time at Salzburg, he said he was ready for a new challenge and is looking forward to testing himself against the best in the world.
He said: "I had moved away from my family to move Salzburg and obviously that was tough, but I am used to that. Being in England, it's going to be a new challenge - it's the best league in the world and I am ready to be challenged that way. I am really excited."
