Brenden Aaronson praises Leeds United supporters for role they played in Chelsea win

Brenden Aaronson has praised the Leeds United supporters for the role they played in the 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea.

The Whites faithful roared the Leeds players on to a shock victory, with Aaronson opening the scoring against Chelsea. Rodrigo grabbed a second goal just four minutes later, before Jack Harrison completed the scoring midway through the second-half.

Aaronson scored his first goal for the Whites after being cruelly denied a debut strike against Wolves on the opening day of the season. The 21-year-old thought he'd scored against Wolves, but the winning goal was recorded as a Rayan Ait-Nouri own-goal.

However, Aaronson's first Leeds goal was worth the wait, in what he described as a 'dream' moment.

"We dreamed about it for a long time," he told Sky Sports. "For me, it’s a dream come true. It shows how much progress we’ve made."

At one point in the game, Leeds had ran over 11km more than Chelsea. The work-ethic in the Whites squad was epitomised by Aaronson's goal. He chased the ball down and forced Edouard Mendy into a glaring error to give Leeds the advantage.

"It shows who wants it more in the moment of time," said Aaronson.

"We had the drive today, we were all pumped up. The crowd pumped us up the whole time and you could see it on the field. Everyone was driven and that's the kind of goals we score."
