Brenden Aaronson makes Premier League admission after impressive Leeds United debut

Brenden Aaronson says he could feel the 'high level' of the Premier League during his Leeds United debut against Wolves. The Whites got off to a winning start in the new Premier League season, with Aaronson one of the star performers.

The 21-year-old was cruelly denied a debut goal in front of a sold out Elland Road. The American appeared to get the final touch on Patrick Bamford's low cross for the winning goal, but the goal was awarded to Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri. Rodrigo scored the opening goal for Leeds, cancelling out Daniel Podence's early strike.

It was Aaronson's first taste of competitive English football after signing from Red Bull Salzburg this summer, and the main thing he noticed during his Premier League debut was that every player possesses great technical quality.

"You can tell how high the level is, everybody is so technical, Wolves were tough," Aaronson told Leeds United's website.

“They moved the ball super well and they got it out to the other side which hurts us because we like to compress and keep it on one side, so that was tough at one point.

"But we fought through it and we got the win and I think we were good on the counter attacks.

“Winning at home, at Elland Road for my first time, what a wonderful experience for me and for the team to get the win. It’s a great start to the season."
