Celtic's wait over the appointment of a new manager continues but the Hotline has already rubber-stamped the return of Brendan Rodgers.
Fans from both sides of the Old Firm have had their say on the Irishman and some Ibrox fans would welcome him back to Glasgow with open arms. Hugh McInulty, Glasgow, said: "I don’t think I’ve ever been so disillusioned with the Celtic support. Wanting the club to go cap in hand back for a manager that did the dirty on us halfway through a season? If he’s the best on the list then get a new list. We’ve money and Champions League football so can’t believe the sacked Leicester manager is what fans are wanting. Still he did give us our worst results in Europe and dire possession football so it’s not all bad."
Rab Picken said: "I hope Celtic bring Rodgers back as Michael Beale will have him on toast as he will crumble under the challenge of a strong Rangers side he never faced in his last time at the club. He took Leicester from champs to chumps and will do the same to the other wee side in Glasgow on his return. But then again he might bottle the chance and go to a bigger club like Leeds who have the money Brendan desires."
Michael Emonds, Northampton, said: "Once again Hotline caller Jimmy Murray shows how little he knows about Celtic. He thinks that with Ange Postecoglou just out the door a few days and they are on the verge of signing a young Norwegian player means Peter Lawwell is in charge of recruitment. Doesn’t he think that Ange would have had some input into the scouting of the player just as he had in the recruitment of Stevie Hammell to a coaching position, or does he think Celtic employ all the staff they have when Lawwell can do it all on his own?"
Alan Flett emailed: "Celtic fans are priceless. They criticised Rodgers when he left and now they want him back. Do they not realise that Rodgers is just using them as a pathway back to the EPL? But this time he’ll be up against a strong Rangers side and his managerial career will be as good as done in six months' time."
Paul McCormack, Coatbridge, said: "So Brendan might return to Celtic. If he does we get a guy whose teams won treble Trebles, a guy who improved players massively, but who ultimately left, as did Ange. If he comes back, he will leave again should a better offer come in again. There's no such thing as being in it for the long haul any more, with players, or managers. We must be realistic about this."
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: "As a Rangers fan I can only see good things for the league if the likes of Rodgers comes to Celtic as their manager. Beale and Rodgers bring a bit of quality to a somewhat dire league."
Rab McNab, Dunoon, said: "It looks like beggars can’t be choosers. Celtic's board is going cap in hand to Judas probably as they can’t attract any other manager of any calibre."
Seamie Gallagher, Govan, said: "I had to laugh at Hotline caller Martin Baird who gave Celtic fans pelters for even wanting Brendan back. His club accepted two guys back as heroes after they did the dirty on his club, namely Steven Davis and Allan McGregor who both left Rangers for money."
Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, said: "If Scotland beat Norway in Oslo they will become immortal as this young team under Steve Clarke are not there to make up the numbers as Spain thought they'd just turn up at Hampden and win. Erling Haaland and his Norsemen team full of superstars need to beware. The European Championship qualifiers belong to Scotland and I believe another scalp is looming."
Neil Renton, Edinburgh, said: "I had to laugh at former Hearts player Ryan Stevenson saying the Jam Tarts are a Mickey Mouse outfit if they compete in Europe outlet for the experience. It Disney make sense the Tynecastle club will do anything other than be fodder for a half decent opponent."
