Brendan Rodgers 'storms out' of Leicester press conference as ex Celtic boss furious at 'disrespectful' questioning

It is now a must win situation every time out for Brendan Rodgers as the Leicester City boss remains in hot water. And the pressure seems to be getting to him.

The former Celtic gaffer has had a well below par start to the season at the King Power, taking just five points from the opening 10 matches of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign. It was another uninspired goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday, which now means the Foxes are experiencing their worst run in England's top flight since the 1983/84 season. And it means that Thursday's encounter with Leeds in growing in significance as the struggling side and under pressure manager look for some well needed points.

The ex-Parkhead boss showed a sense of concern as he bristled at a question in his post match press conference at the weekend. Rodgers began the presser in good spirits but the mood turned when he was asked about the rumour doing the rounds on Leicester supporter sites claiming he is simply too expensive for the club to sack.

"I have read on the news what I am supposed to be on and I know for sure that is a total fabrication. It's nowhere near," he snapped.

"I actually think it is a disrespectful question, very disrespectful. I never asked you how much money you are on or whether there is any blockage in your role from your owners. I don't think you need to worry about my wages. If there is a stumbling block in any thing, you need to ask the owners that. It's a disgraceful question." He continued before terminating the interview and storming away, according to the Daily Telegraph.

It would reportedly cost the club £10million to sack the Northern Irishman, who has three years remaining on his contract at the King Power.

It's reported Rodgers receives a yearly pay packet of around £10million, making him one of the best paid managers in the division. But it could be a case of "what will cost us more?" for Leicester as their form mirrors that of a relegation run.
