Fearful Jamie Redknapp reckons Brendan Rodgers' time at Leicester City could be coming to the end - as the man himself admits he would hold no grudges if the axe fell.
The former Celtic boss is up against it with the Foxes after suffering a 6-2 drubbing at the hand of Spurs - a sixth defeat in seven Premier League games. The Irishman watched his Leicester side go toe-to-toe with Antonio Conte's men before Son Heung-min blasted a late hat-trick.
The latest heavy defeat leaves Rodgers' side cut adrift at the bottom of the table having conceded 22 goals already. The statistics are damning and Redknapp admits he could see a change coming. He told Sky Sports: "The easy option, sometimes for owners, is to change it. Get someone in, freshen it up, give you a little bit of hope, a bit of belief, a different voice in the dressing room.
" Leicester got rid of Claudio Ranieri, six months after he won the title. They are not afraid to make changes. I just have a feeling something might happen there. Brendan knows, he knows the game, he's been in it long enough, if they were to sack him, 'well, look at the run I'm on'.
"Can you get the right manager in to change it? I have no doubt, even if they do change it, Rodgers will be successful manager somewhere else. Sometimes, it comes to that point, where there's an international break, and the fixtures coming up, it's a good time to change it. I do fear for him."
Meanwhile, Rodgers himself is striving to keep believing that his side's luck is about to change.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "For 73 minutes it was a good game and we were arguably the better side with the chances we created. We just got punished for mistakes.
"I asked the players to play with courage and be brave and they were certainly that. The scoreline looks a lot worse than the game was. I really feel for the players, because they didn't deserve that, but we just have to be better in key defensive moments.
"It is mistakes that have been costing us. When you haven't won games your confidence can take a hit, especially when you have been giving away goals.
"It has been a really difficult start. We have the international break to recover and then a run of games to start to get back on track."
He then added: "Listen, whatever happens I’ll have a huge amount of respect for them (the owners) because they’ve given me a huge amount of support since I’ve been here."
