Under-fire Brendan Rodgers has bemoaned his Leicester City players for their lack of concentration and not 'doing the basics right' with his side sitting bottom of the Premier League table.
Their first win of the season last Monday came against an out-of-sorts Nottingham Forest side, ending a six-match losing streak, with proceedings beginning to look up for the Foxes after a turbulent start. However, a loss to Bournemouth at the weekend despite leading at half-time hurled them back into turmoil with Leicester now sitting on just four points after nine league games.
And Rodgers, who has been under increasing flak for their poor start to the season, has pinpointed where his players need to improve if they are to drag themselves out of the mire before the thought of relegation becomes all too realistic for the east Midlands outfit.
"For me, there's no change in terms of only, if anything, a greater motivation," the former Celtic boss. "This is a great coaching challenge of where the team is at and where I'm at with the team.
"It's not where we want to be of course, but we are disappointed with the result last week. In many of the games, getting through to that first 60 minutes, we've been very good in the games and in front.
"But the just the details. Concentration, those basics of the game that has denied us getting the points - and that was the same last week, so naturally of course, after being in a good position only to lose the game, it was bitterly disappointing.
"But as a leader and a manager, I give myself 24 hours to move on and get the team ready - and over the course of the week the players' spirits have been very good. My dedication is to them, to help the phase we are in, and like I say we are in good spirits and ready to go again at home."
Crystal Palace are the side that travel to the King Power on Saturday lunchtime; and should Rodgers taste defeat against Patrick Vieira's men, the boos will circulate louder than ever as his already-precarious looking job sinking to new lows.
