Callum McGregor is almost ever-present for Celtic, so his exclusion from the starting XI to face St Johnstone on Sunday will have come as a surprise to many.
The Celtic captain drops to the bench among five changes made by manager Brendan Rodgers.
Asked about the decision, Rodgers told BBC Scotland: "With Callum, he virtually plays in a lot of the games, but every now and then it's good to take the shine off him a little bit.

"Like any other player, he also is human and he needs to get some recovery in the legs, especially with the closeness of all the games.
"I know he's there if I need him. But he's like every other player, he needs to recover at times and this is the chance for us to do it.
"I think the strength is what you would want it to be. The squad depth the last couple of games, obviously when we faced Dundee United we had the flu and various little knocks which disrupted that.
"But it's nice as it's always good to be able to pick from a full strength squad and all the players are contributing really well."
