Scott Brown has been offered a quickfire route back into football by former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers rejuvenated Brown’s Parkhead career when he took over the Hoops in 2016 with many writing the ex-Scotland captain off.
And following the 36-year-old’s departure from Aberdeen, Rodgers has given his former on-field lieutenant an opportunity to join him at Leicester City.
The Foxes boss has been in contact with his former Celtic captain since he took the decision to hang up his boots earlier this week.
Rodgers has invited Brown down to spend some time with him and his coaching staff in the Midlands over the coming weeks.
It would give Brown a much-needed insight into top-level management as he aims to revive his own coaching career.
Rodgers has also vowed to help Brown get back in the game and to help wherever he can in terms of helping him to land a new role.
Brown decided to terminate his Aberdeen contract on Wednesday and will now take time to consider his future and his options with his family.
Brown has already been inundated with offers of support and help since he announced his playing retirement.
The 36-year-old moved to Aberdeen to be a playing assistant coach to Stephen Glass.
Brown, however, was left in an untenable position when Glass was sacked and replaced by Jim Goodwin, who made it clear there would be limited scope for him to continue to coach and even play.
The former Scotland star only quit Celtic and moved north to begin his coaching path.
He was heavily involved in all aspects under Glass but was left frustrated as he didn’t coach as much as he would have wanted due to his playing commitments.
Celtic would be willing to offer Brown the chance to return in a coaching capacity but that wouldn’t be in a first-team capacity and would be at under-age of academy level.
There has also been talk of Brown joining former Celtic boss Neil Lennon in Cyprus with Omonia Nicosia.
Lennon had wanted to bring in Mark Fotheringham as his No. 2 but there has been trouble agreeing to that deal.
The ex-Celtic boss could turn to his long-term assistant Garry Parker, even though they didn’t work together in his last stint at Celtic.
