Brendan Rodgers has revealed Jota may have played his way into the starting XI for Celtic against Bayern Munich.
The January transfer signing scored in a 3-0 win over Dundee United on Saturday.
Jota, 25, was added to the Celtic squad for the Champions League but only featured from the bench in the first leg on Wednesday night.
However, Rodgers has admitted Jota may well start on Tuesday as Celtic look to overturn a 2-1 scoreline from the first match in Glasgow.
Asked whether Jota could start for the crucial Champions League match, Rodgers said: “He may do.
“He’s shown his level since he’s come back in, it’s just a fitness thing really. That’s why we’re managing him through those moments, so today was another chance for him to get some minutes.

“I thought him and Jeff (Schlupp) combined really well on that side, so he’s getting there.”
Rodgers previously called for patience as Jota returned to action after seriously limited game time for Al-Ittihad and Rennes in the last 18 months.
Callum McGregor opened the scoring for Celtic against United as the club moved 16 points clear at the top of the table. Adam Idah wrapped up the win with a stunning curling effort seconds before he was subbed off.
On Idah, Rodgers added: “He totally deserved it as well, he worked so hard in the game, he was up pressing and making the contact.
“He was very good and a wonderful finish because the touch just slightly gets away from him. He’s got to re-adjust and guide it with that power into the top corner, it was a great finish.”
