Brendan Rodgers names four of his favourite 'important' goals of this season

Brendan Rodgers has named his four favourite goals that contributed to Celtic's title-winning Scottish Premiership campaign and group-stage journey in the UEFA Champions League.

The four goals came from Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah, each of which played an important part in the manager's return to Glasgow's east end.

Speaking to Celtic TV during a fan Q&A, the first goal noted by the Irishman was Kyogo's fine strike against Rangers at Ibrox last September.

He said: "My favourite goal this season, or goals I would say, they've come at very important moments in our season.

"I would definitely say Kyogo's goal away at Ibrox earlier on in the season. That was special in that first Glasgow derby game."

Appearing to catch Rangers goalkeeper off-guard, the Japanese forward struck the ball sweetly on that occassion after pouncing on a Matt O'Riley through-ball.

The manager's other top picks included another from Kyogo, and two from loanee striker Adam Idah.

He continued: "I really enjoyed our opening game [of the Champions League] again, that was a Kyogo goal, against Atletico Madrid. Playing in a high-level game, to play the football that we played in order to create that goal, and the noise that came from that, was special.

"And I also think that Adam Idah's goals at Motherwell played a real pivotal [role] for us in the season. His header was an outstanding header, if you look at the athleticism, his ability to jump and actually execute the goal.

"Then his finishing goal, which put us in front really late on in the game. There were a number of really fantastic goals that meant different things in important moments in our season."
