Brendan Rodgers names Celtic starting XI to face Kilmarnock

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has named his team to face Kilmarnock this afternoon.

The Parkhead side are aiming to bounce back from a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened St Johnstone last time out.

Daniels Balodis' first-half header proved decisive as the Perth outfit defeated Celtic for the first time in almost a decade.

Rodgers will be hoping for a response from his players this afternoon as they welcome Kilmarnock, who are also struggling near the bottom of the Scottish Premiership, to Glasgow's east end.

Victory this afternoon would put Celtic on the cusp of their fourth consecutive league title.

They currently sit 13 points clear of city rivals Rangers at the top of the table and know that if they win today, and Barry Ferguson's side lose to Aberdeen at Pittodrie tomorrow, they will be crowned champions.

From last Sunday's surprising defeat at McDiarmid Park, Rodgers has made four alterations to his lineup for this afternoon's match-up.

Confirmed Celtic starting XI: Sinisalo, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, Engels, Hatate, Forrest, Maeda, Idah.

Subs: Bain, Trusty, Jota, Kuhn, McCowan, Schlupp, Nawrocki, Bernardo, Ralston.
