It was the Brendan Show on the Hotline as the man with the gleaming smile prepares to win back the hearts and minds of the Celtic fans he jilted four years ago.
The opening credits will roll on Friday when the returning Celtic manager speaks to the media for the first time since his appointment, but it seems like Brendan Rodgers will be the last to speak about the situation as every single call and email on the Hotline got in before him.
Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, emailed: "Having such a high profile manager back in Scottish football is a firework moment in our game. Ange Postecoglou left with a record of winning five out of six trophies so replacing him with someone with a record of seven out of seven is a no brainer. I also think John Kennedy remaining was a key factor in him coming on board and it will be interesting to see if Postecoglou's mantra of 'we never stop' is so successful without his trusted backroom alongside him next season."
Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, said: "If Celtic had signed a rookie type manager, people would have been on the Hotline slaughtering Celtic and having a laugh. Somehow I don't think those people are laughing now. Dominance continues."
George McCallum emailed: "I do not like the thought of Brendan Rodgers coming back to Celtic but I also think that we will just have to grin and bear it as it will be detrimental to the players and future chances of winning competitions again this season. So I would like to urge true Celtic supporters to get behind the manager and let's see what he will give and not to worry that he may leave if another opportunity rears its ugly head in England as he is bad news there."
Henry Moffat, Stirling, said: "What a fantastic box office signing for Celtic Brendan is. He is going to take this young talented squad of treble winning champions and make them even better. And with over £50m in the bank and with Champions League football guaranteed, the jealous rants of gutted Rangers fans mean nothing to us. Everyone knows they are disguising their fear."
But it wasn't a complete love-in. Inevitably a few barbed comments were thrown in Rodgers' direction. Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "Congratulations to Celtic for getting Brendan Rodgers back. He replaces Postocoglou who the fans thought was the best ever. However Michael Gannon thinks that Rodgers is an UPGRADE on Postecoglou! I am sure that the good people of Leicester might disagree.”
Stuart McLeod, Stepps, said: "Loads of Celtic fans on the Hotline lambasting the Rangers support on the Rodgers appointment. Just a reminder, it was the Celtic support that labelled the man a fraud and rat. They loved Brendan so much they turned up at his house through the night and helped themselves to his medals. Welcome back Brendan."
Kenneth Houston emailed: "Rangers fans were berating Celtic for going back to Brendan Rodgers as manager, saying that they could not attract anyone else for the job. Obviously they are scared that he will keep Celtic at the top. They also forget that their team has also done it, with Jock Wallace and Walter Smith. A phrase involving the words Pot and Kettle come to mind."
Gordon McIlwraith, Kilmarnock said: "I can't believe Celtic have taken Rodgers back. He walked out on them in the middle of the season. He has no loyalty."
And finally, Neil Renton, Edinburgh, asked: "I wonder what Brendan Rodgers was feeling the most yesterday? Delight at having another go at the Celtic job or regret he didn’t wait a couple of hours to get the Sheffield Wednesday one?
