Celtic's North Curve ultras have doubled down on their feelings towards Brendan Rodgers by bringing up their old banner aimed at his exit.
Rodgers left Celtic for Leicester City back in March 2019; much to the dismay of Celtic fans, who were hoping he would stay at the club in a bid to become the first Scottish team to win 10 titles in a row. It created negative feelings amongst some in the east end, but that was taken a step further with a banner from the Green Brigade.
It read: "You traded immorality for mediocrity. Never a Celt. Always a fraud", which won't have stuck well for the Northern Irishman who is a boyhood Hoops fan. However, with his return to the club on a three-year contract, supporters are generally happy that they have a manager who achieved so much in his time at Parkhead - though that excludes the Green Brigade.
Just two minutes after the club announced Rodgers had returned to the dugout, the @NCCeltic page tweeted a photo of the banner they used all that time ago, firming up their stance on the appointment.
And other supporters have reacted negatively to the tweet. One said: "You do not speak for us all. Just remember that. Welcome back Brendan", whilst another tweeted: "One corner of Celtic park might sit in a huff the rest will get behind the manager."
What the tweet does offer is a reminder to Rodgers that whilst many are happy with his return, there are certainly burnt bridges that he must repair.
Celtic's season gets underway in the Scottish Premiership, beginning on the weekend of August 5/6.
