Breathing toxic air? Here’s some medical advice

There are many steps you can take if you feel unwell in an area with toxic air.

“People living in Delhi should do steaming daily, gargle, drink hot water, wear a mask, stay indoors and go for a morning walk only when the sun rises…Never ignore cough assuming that it is seasonal…Consult a doctor immediately. Do not wait for breathlessness,” says lung specialist Dr Sai Kiran Chaudhari.

Dr Chaudhari heads the department of pulmonology, critical care and sleep medicine at the Delhi Heart and Lung Institute.

In a conversation with Newslaundry, the doctor also lists out check-ups one can get to test for the impact of air pollution.

This video is part of a collaborative campaign to tackle air pollution. Here’s how you can join the Fight To Breathe. Click here to power this campaign.
