Trevoh Chalobah signs Chelsea contract extension to hold longest deal at club

Trevoh Chalobah has signed a contract extension at Chelsea.

The Blues' academy product has put pen to paper on a deal that will run until 2028. The club will have the option to extend that by a further year.

The news comes just over a year since Chalobah signed a long term contract with the Blues as he broke out under Thomas Tuchel in 2021/22. Having started this season on the fringes of the team, under Graham Potter, Chalobah has cemented self as a crucial piece in Chelsea's defence.

The 23-year-old defender was handed his chance when Wesley Fofana picked up an injury against AC Milan in the Champions League, and Chalobah only missed minutes when he was substituted in the Carabao Cup against Manchester City following that moment.

Co-owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said: "We’re delighted that Trevoh will be extending his stay with Chelsea. He has been with us since childhood and has grown into an exceptional young player. He’s an important part of our men’s first team squad and we’re excited to see what’s next for Trevoh at Chelsea."

Chalobah has been part of the Chelsea set-up since the Under-9s level and made his way up to senior football in 2018. The Cobham product enjoyed loans at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient before returning to Chelsea to make an impressive impact in the UEFA Super Cup final win over Villarreal.
