Brits are set for travel chaos this morning with a frosty start and the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for fog.
With the beginning of December temperatures are starting to fall after a largely mild autumn so far and drivers are also likely to face fog in some parts of the UK on Thursday.
A yellow warning from the Met Office for fog has been issued which runs from 4am until 11am and covers large parts of southwestern England and south Wales.
It states: "Fog patches causing difficult driving conditions and perhaps some travel disruption."
People are told to expect "slower journey times with delays to bus and train services possible and "there is a chance of delays or cancellations to flights."
There is rain for the north of the UK overnight while the clearer skies in the south are bringing frosty conditions and fog which is set to be "dense, stubborn and fairly widespread" said Met Office forecast Clare Nasir.
She said: "Some clearer skies across central and southern parts of England and Wales allowing for a frost as well as fog, this fog could be dense, stubborn and fairly widespread as we enter Thursday.
"First thing on Thursday morning, cold towards the south, watch out for that frost. Further north it is cloudy and also rather damp."
Most of that fog though is expected to have gone by midday and there could be some brighter weather for the afternoon.
There is likely to be cloud that will sit over the north of England while the rain is likely to be just in the north east of England and Scotland.
It is set to be a cold day though compared to temperatures over the past month with it unlikely to rise above 7C in central England with the warmest areas in the far north of Scotland where it could rise up to 11C thanks to a breeze.
And the colder weather is likely to continue with weather maps from WXCharts shows snow arriving in Wales, the Scottish Highlands and parts of the Pennines on Sunday morning.

Friday:
Fog patches in the south lifting as a brisk easterly wind develops, bringing sunny spells but also a few showers. Cloud and patchy rain moving west across Scotland.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Patchy rain clearing the northwest on Saturday. Otherwise rather cloudy with showers, most frequent near east coasts, some wintriness possible on higher hills. Feeling cold in a brisk easterly breeze.
