Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dilan Markandy has joined Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.
A move to Ewood Park has been in the pipeline for some time for the 20-year-old midfielder, with it being confirmed that terms have been agreed via a short club statement on Tuesday morning.
It read: "We have reached agreement with Blackburn Rovers for the transfer of Dilan Markanday.
"The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has risen through our Academy system to become a regular at Development Squad level during the last three seasons.
"He made one first team appearance for us as a second-half substitute away to Vitesse in the UEFA Europa Conference League in October, 2021.
"We wish Dilan well for the future."
Markanday's situation with Spurs was somewhat baffling, with a succession of managers having not handed him the opportunity to impress.
However, he made history with his solitary appearance for Spurs by becoming the first player of Indian descent to have represented the men's senior team in competitive action.
He was out of contract in north London at the end of the season though, with Fabio Paratici making the decision to earn what he could from the midfielder's services.
Whilst not a disclosed length, he has penned a 'long-term' contract in Lancashire, although football.london understands that a sell-on clause is attached into the deal with Blackburn.
