Three guns and ammunition were found 'in bushes by children' in Heywood.
Police officers were scrambled to the Darnhill area at around 6.30pm last night (Monday) to reports that a firearm had been found. The Manchester Evening News understands that a child, or a group of children, made the sinister discovery in some bushes on a grassed area on Argyle Street, near to a local primary school.
A police spokesperson confirmed in a statement that officers found three guns at the scene. Ammunition was also found.
The weapons will now be sent off for forensic examination. No arrests have been made at this stage.
