Rebekah Vardy has broken down in tears as she thanked her husband Jamie Vardy for standing by her and supporting her through the Wagatha Christie trial.
Footballer Jamie did not give evidence in court but attended the trial with her when not in training and was a rock of support behind the scenes as she lost her High Court libel battle with Coleen Rooney.
Tonight in her first TV interview Coleen is asked what she would like to say to Jamie, she sobs and then says: "You'll make me cry.
"I don't know it's a tough one. It's quite a private one as well. But I think it would just probably be a thank you for just supporting me through everything. And not just him but the kids."
During the interview, airing tonight, she also hits back after being asked about whether she feels "let down" by agent Caroline Watt.
Revealing they're still in touch, she says: "It's hard to it's hard to talk about the things that went on because of the affect that it's had on people's lives."
Interviewer Kate McCann asks: "Are you still in touch?"
"I have spoken to her a couple of times. Yeah," she replies.
Kate asks: "Do you think she feels bad about it? And I asked that because obviously, in the court case, it did come out that she had said it was me, that she was responsible for one of these stories do you think that she feels that responsibility?"
"It is not a conversation that we've had. It's not a conversation that I'd want to talk about with her just purely because of I'm so conscious of her mental wellbeing and you know, how, how it's affected her as well," Rebekah replies.
Asked if she feels "let down" by her, she responds: "Well, come on, you can't ask me that."
Rebekah took Coleen Rooney to court after she accused Rebekah of leaking private stories about her to The Sun.
Last week Mrs Justice Steyn ruled Coleen's accusation after a sting operation was "substantially true".
In another clip released by Talk TV on Tuesday, an emotional Rebekah says: "I will say that till I'm blue in the face. I did not do it."
Elsewhere in the interview, she adds: "I feel let down by a lot of people, a lot of things but most importantly I feel let down by the legal system."
During the interview Rebekah is also seen to bow her head before looking back up with tears in her eyes.
Rebekah, wife of Leicester City footballer Jamie, has been left with a legal bill of up to £3million after the case against Coleen was dismissed.
It had been dubbed the 'Wagatha Christie trial' because of the way Coleen put false stories on her social media to prove Rebekah was responsible for leaking information. And in the written judgement Coleen was described as "an honest and reliable witness" when she gave evidence at the High Court in May. By contrast, Rebekah's evidence was "manifestly inconsistent" with contemporaneous documentary evidence on "many occasions".
The judge added: "I find that it is, unfortunately, necessary to treat Mrs Vardy's evidence with very considerable caution."
The new interview comes just days after Rebekah also posted a defiant photo on social media at the weekend. Taking to Instagram to send out a strong message, the star had her back to the camera and flashed a peace sign and wore a leather jacket with the slogan, ‘Normal is boring’ splattered across it.
In her statement on Friday when the case finished, Rebekah had insisted the judge was "wrong" in their verdict.
She said: “I am extremely sad and disappointed at the decision that the Judge has reached. It is not the result that I had expected, nor believe was just. I brought this action to vindicate my reputation and am devastated by the Judge’s finding.
"The judge accepted that publication of Coleen’s Post was not in the ‘public interest’ and she also rejected her claim that I was the ‘Secret Wag’. But as for the rest of her judgement, she got it wrong and this is something I cannot accept.
"As I explained in my evidence I, my family and even my unborn baby, were subjected to disgusting messages and vile abuse following Coleen’s Post and these have continued even during the course of the trial. Please can the people who have been abusing me and my family now stop. The case is over. I want to thank everyone who has supported me.”
By contrast Coleen said in her statement: "Naturally, I am pleased the judge has found in my favour in her judgement today. It was not a case I ever sought or wanted.
"Both before and after my social media posts in October 2019, I made constant efforts to avoid the need for such a public and drawn out court case. ‘But all my efforts to do so were knocked back by Mrs Vardy and her lawyers.
"This left me with no alternative but to go through with the case to defend myself and to end the repeated leaking of my private information to The Sun.
"The leaks from my private Instagram account began in 2017. They continued for almost two years, intruding on my privacy and that of my family.
"Although I bear Mrs Vardy no ill will, today’s judgement makes clear that I was right in what I said in my Instagram posts.
"Finally, I would like to thank all of my legal team, my family and friends and everyone who has supported me - including the public - through this difficult and stressful time."
