Jordan Mooney dead - Queen of Punk Pamela Rooke dies at just 66

Punk rock queen Jordan Mooney has died aged 66, her heartbroken family have announced.

Jordan - real name Pamela Rooke - was best known for her work with the Sex Pistols and as a model for Vivienne Westwood.

Her family released a statement saying she will be sadly missed as tributes begin to flood in.

She died after a short battle with cancer, they confirmed.

They said: "Jordan (Pamela Rooke) has left her mark on this planet, whether it be as ‘The Queen of Punk’, or for her veterinary work and countless prize winning cats.

"She lived life to the full and was true to herself and others throughout the whole of her life.

"She was totally trusted and respected by all those who knew her.

"Jordan was a blessed rare individual indeed. She did not want any speculation regarding her passing, and wished for the world to know that after a short period of illness.

"She succumbed to a relatively rare form of cancer known as cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).

"Jordan was a wonderful woman and will be remembered for countless decades to come.

'The Rooke family have requested time to grieve their loss and would ask everyone to kindly respect this – thank you."

Known to fans for her collaborations and being involved in many early Sex Pistols shows Jordan made her sense of style and dressing—a bleached, platinum-blonde, voluminous haircut and dark raccoon eye makeup— has made her a highly visible icon of London’s punk subculture.

Jordan also created the W10 London punk style with Johnny Rotten, Soo Catwoman and Siouxsie Sioux.
