The Princess of Wales has broken cover for the first time since coming under fire in Prince Harry's memoir Spare, dropping her three children off at school for the first day of the new term.
A pensive-looking Kate was spotted behind the wheel of her car on the school run this morning after her brother-in-law Harry made several bombshell claims about her in his new book.
She was spotted as she made her way back from Lambrook School, where her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have returned to following the Christmas holidays.
Harry took aim at his sister-in-law several times during the 407-page book, including alleging that she "howled" at his infamous Nazi fancy dress outfit.
He also accused Kate of "stereotyping" Meghan Markle, saying her behaviour created a barrier and shared details of a row over bridesmaids dresses at the time of his wedding, which left Meghan in tears.
In addition, in a TV interview to promote the book's release, he explained: "I don’t think they [William and Kate] were ever expecting me to get into a relationship with someone like Meghan, who had, you know, a very successful career.
"There was a lot of stereotyping that was happening, that I was guilty of as well, at the beginning."
Pushed on what he meant by that, Harry continued: "American actress, and that was playing out in the British press in the media at the time as well.
"I had that in the back of my mind, and some of the things that my brother and sister-in-law – some of the way that they were acting or behaving definitely felt to me as though unfortunately that stereotyping was causing a bit of a barrier to them really sort of, you know, introducing or welcoming her in."
Asked specifically what he means. Harry added: "Well, American actress, divorced, biracial - there's all different parts to that and what that can mean but if you are, like a lot of my family do, if you are reading the press, the British tabloids, [Yeah] at the same time as living the life, then there is a tendency where you could actually end up living in the tabloid bubble rather than the actual reality."
Kate being spotted today comes as she, Prince William and King Charles have told aides it is “business as usual” and will visit communities across the UK on Thursday.
The King will attend a community group close to his Scottish home, Balmoral, and William and Kate are due at a community engagement in the north of England.
Sources said the senior royals would not be reacting to Harry's tell-all book as he continues on a promotional TV tour in the US.
As the Duke of Sussex downed tequila shots with chat show host Stephen Colbert last night, aides said the royals were "getting on with the job.
A royal source said: “"he message is it's very much business as usual. There's lots to look forward to so the focus is on supporting communities and not being distracted, that’s best for everyone."
