Breaking: Nottingham Forest announce 10th summer signing after double swoop

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O'Brien.

Forest have been busy in this summer transfer window and the 23-year-old becomes the 10th signing to arrive at the City Ground so far. The midfielder made 50 appearances in all competitions for Carlos Corberan last season.

O'Brien was part of the Terriers side that were pipped to promotion to the Premier League by Steve Cooper's Reds last season, in the Championship play-off final at Wembley. The midfielder joins his Harry Toffolo at Forest after the pair were team mates at Huddersfield.

“We are delighted to secure the signing of Lewis O’Brien and we are thrilled to get this one over the line," said Forest head coach Cooper. "He was one of the standout players in the Championship last season and possesses many of the qualities that we are looking for to strengthen the midfield unit.

“At 23 years of age and with an abundance of experience already, I am confident Lewis will play a pivotal role next year and I look forward to watching him grow as a player over the coming months.”

The Reds added in a statement: Everyone at Nottingham Forest welcomes Lewis to the club and wishes him the best of luck throughout his time here."
