Mikel Arteta has responded to reports that loanee defender Pablo Mari was stabbed in Italy today. Speaking to reporters after the 2-0 Europa League defeat at PSV, Arteta explained: "I just found out."
"I know Edu has been in touch with his relatives. He's in hospital but he seems to be okay."
Arsenal have also since released a statement on the player. The club added: "We understand he’s in hospital and OK but know no more than that at this time."

Monza CEO Adriano Galliani released a statement through the club Twitter account.
"Dear Pablo, we are all here close to you and your family, we love you, keep fighting as you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will get well soon"
The player was reportedly stabbed in a Carrefour near Milan around 6:30pm local time. Six people including the Spaniard were the victims, with reports stating one person has died.
The other five including Mari remain in hospital. The 29-year-old is on a season-long loan with Monza who have an obligatory purchase option in the deal should the Serie A side avoid relegation.
