Mason Mount has been named Chelsea's men's player of the year for 2021/22 in a presentation following the Blues' win against Watford.
The Cobham product has scored 13 goals and provided 16 assists this term to provide more goal contributions than any other Chelsea player in his 51 appearances. The 23-year-old has found the ability to connect midfield and attack consistently while his teammates have struggled to sustain their output in front of goal.
Mount saw off competition from the whole of the squad as supporters voted for this term's winner. Many expected Thiago Silva or Antonio Rudiger to pick up the award on Sunday evening, with Reece James perhaps in contention but limited due to his injury problems earlier in the season.

Mount lifting the award sees him retain his title from the 2020/21 season and become the first player to win the award in consecutive seasons since Eden Hazard in 2014 and 2015. The Belgian in turn followed in Juan Mata's footsteps after the Spaniard secured the price in 2012 and 2013.
Sam Kerr was unsurprisingly named Chelsea Women's player of the season after also winning the FWA Women's Footballer of the Year award. The Australian international has netted 32 times in all competitions and earned the Golden Boot for the second time in as many seasons in the Super League.
Harvey Vale was named the 2021/22 Academy Player of the Season, an award that Mount and Reece James have won in the past. This award is chosen by the head of youth development, Neil Bath.
