Man found dead in apartment block courtyard as police release statement

Police have confirmed a man has been found dead in a Salford apartment block courtyard this morning (October 11).

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at 8.20am this morning to Adelphi Street, on the banks of the River Irwell and adjacent to Salford Meadow, to the Adelphi Wharf complex. Paramedics were on-scene first, and in turn, contacted GMP, the Manchester Evening News understands.

Following the police’s arrival, a forensics tent was set up around the scene, and officers in white suits could be seen conducting enquiries around the courtyard. Their activities included using equipment mounted on a tripod, and filming the exterior surroundings of the building.

Now, GMP has confirmed that, tragically, a man has died in the incident. A spokesperson added that ‘we don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances’, and the force was working on ‘identifying, locating, and informing’ the man’s next of kin.

Emergency services are in attendance. Anyone with information should contact GMP via 101 quoting 606 11/10/22."

A briefing on the incident for community leaders, seen by the M.E.N. added that there was ‘not believed to be any threat to the wider community’ in relation to the incident.
